That way we can try to answer any questions those of you might have and that's exactly what we're doing today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit with removable arms. So this is the way our base plate is going to look whenever we're not hooked up to our motor home and we're just cruising our Jeep around town. And honestly, I think it looks really good. The base plate comes out through these factory pockets here. So these factory openings pop out and that's where our base plate comes through, and so they're going to be kind of tucked back a little bit, not very visible, but still easy to get to.And with this one, you're really not going to have to trim a whole lot. more

In addition to your tow bar, you'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental attachment in addition to your tow bar. You also need your base plate, which is the connection point on our vehicle that our tow bar is going to attach to.You also need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals on your motor home and transfers them to the lights on your vehicle so people will know your intentions when going down the road. more

Connor: Hey everyone. Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the etrailer invisible base plate kit here for our 2020 Jeep Cherokee. So here is what our base plate kit is going to look like while it's installed on the vehicle and we don't have an attached to the motor home here. As we can see, it has a super nice factory clean finish like install look. It's just barely going to protrude from the bumper facia here and the majority of it is going to insert through where our factory tow hooks were, which means there's going to be very minor modifications needed to install this.So right now, as we said, we have it in the configuration that we would just be driving around town. more

Our base plate is the key attachment point between our vehicle and our tow bar. Our base plate bolts right up to our frame, that way it's a good, strong connection to our tow bar. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle; you'll need your base plate, which is the connection point on your vehicle that you'll attach your tow bar to; you'll need to your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar; you'll also need your diode wiring, which will take all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights at the back of your vehicle; as well as your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brake pedal in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home to help you come to a safe stop.And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. The majority of it's going to be hidden completely underneath our bumper behind our under shield here with just our connection points poking through. On each side you're going to have your connection point for your removable arms that will attach to your tow bar as well as your end sticking out where you can hook your safety cables to. When you're ready to use your tow bar, the removable ends will simply insert, twist, and then lock into place.Once we've got them installed, we can then attach our tow bar to the end here. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today and your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's tabless base plate. Your base plate is going to be one of five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motorhome. The base plate provides a connection point for your tow bar to attach to. So in addition to your base plate, you'll also need your tow bar; which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, your safety cables; which is the supplemental connection, in addition to your tow bar, your diode wiring; which takes all the lighting signals from your motorhome, transfers them to your vehicle so all the lights will operate just like your motorhome so people behind you can know your intentions when going down the road, and your supplemental braking system; which will apply the brake pedal in your vehicle, using your existing brakes on the vehicle to help it come to a safe stop when you hit the brakes in your motorhome.And this is what our base plate is going to look like when it's installed.
